Cat Wells Bio
CCat Wells Blues Band, a Canadian ensemble, showcases the powerful and gritty vocals of Cat Wells, whose singing has drawn comparisons to renowned artists like Susan Tedeschi, Beth Hart, and Janis Joplin. The band embraces a funky blues style, infusing their music with an energetic and dance-able rhythm. They have graced the stages of various Blues Festivals, including the White Rock Blues Festival in British Columbia, the Rendezvous Blues Festival in Oroville, Washington, and the Beaches Blues Festival in Toronto, among others. Recently, they were honored with an invitation to perform at the Women in Blues Showcase during the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. Career highlights for the band include sharing the stage with notable acts such as Jeff Healey, Harpdog Brown, and ZZ Top. In December 2025, they released their CD "Brand New Shoes," featuring collaborations with artists Jason Buie, Johnny Ferreira from Colin James' band, and the late Sonny Rhodes. The album's tracks "Wild Women Never Get the Blues" and "Feel Like Dyin'" both reached the top spot on the Canadian Blues Charts, while the title track earned a nomination for Best Blues Song at the Intercontinental Music Awards. The band is currently in the process of working on their next release.
